Lightning Fictional Major League Baseball
Lightning Fictional Major League Baseball is an Out of the Park Baseball fictional simulation league that is beginning in 2021 as a direct competitor with Major League Baseball, however with many differences in the rules and structure of the league.
League Structure
The league is beginning with 2 conferences being the American Baseball League (ABL) and the National Baseball League (NBL). Each conference will have 4 teams, however the official reveals for them will be coming soon.
Major Rule Differences
LFMLB will still feature a 162-game season, but the playoffs will instead feature the top 2 teams in each conference playing a 7-game series for the conference title, followed by a 7-game series for the winners of each conference to determine a league champion.
Roster construction is much different from Major League Baseball due to the lack of farm system. Instead, teams can carry a 50-man active roster, with no injured lists. While injuries will still occur, the injured players will remain on the active roster.
The trade deadline has been pushed back to August 31st, despite the league starting at a similar time compared to the MLB.
Designated hitters will be used in all games.
Spring Training is nonexistent.
Team reveals, starting rosters, and other important information will be rolling out over the next couple of days so stay tuned.
